MAGTEC's product line-up includes 3 primary components that, working together, provide advanced protection for your fleet vehicles and other assets.

The On-board Control System (OCS), designed and developed by MAGTEC, provides the information and control requirements in your vehicles. Created as an intelligent interface to the vehicle, the OCS is in constant contact with the vehicle and can make decisions and engage features depending on the driver, vehicle, environment and auxiliary component data it manages. The OCS provides numerous, configurable features that are simply not available with any other system.

• Keyless Driver Authentication requires a driver to enter a valid driver code before a operating a vehicle. Driver codes can be deleted or changed remotely as required.
• Tamper Protect™ constantly monitors vehicle systems to detect attempts to bypass the security of the OCS.  If tampering is detected, the vehicle is immediately locked down and alert messages are issued – ensuring that a prompt response can occur.
• Unattended Idle Protect™ (UIP) automatically engages without driver action allowing operators to fully secure the vehicle with the engine running and the key out of the ignition. This allows operators to step away from the vehicle, while remaining confident that their vehicle remains fully protected by the OCS.
• Timed Maintenance Bypass returns the vehicle to OEM operation for a preset time interval, allowing regular maintenance without disclosing the driver authentication code. The vehicle remains in the maintenance setting until the time interval expires, or the maintenance exit code is entered in the keypad.  
• Acceleration Control System™ (ACS) is unique in the marketplace and a key differentiator between MAGTEC’s OCS and any other vehicle immobilization technology. ACS allows dispatch to remotely disable a vehicle by reducing the vehicles’ speed in preset increments, bringing it to a safe and controlled stop.   
• Speed and Idle Management™ (SIM) enables the carrier to remotely set, control and geo-fence speed maximums and idle times. SIM maximizes fuel efficiencies resulting in calculable savings in fuel and operational costs along with improving environmental performance. (Not currently available with MAGTEC over-the-air partners.)
  

The Mobile Communication System (MCS) provides additional functionality and decision making power at the vehicle. The MCS also provides the communication capability necessary to move data and commands between the vehicle and MAGTEC's FleetControl™ Data Center.

The MCS is a cellular based communication system that is used to move data to and from the vehicle. It provides continuous monitoring of the vehicle status and responds instantaneously to pre-defined threshold conditions.  State-of-the-art GPS information is as reliable and accurate as you can get using a 16 channel location technology platform with WAAS support.  The MSC also meets strict U.S. Military and SAE specifications for harsh environments.  It will store and forward up to 10,000 events and messages to ensure your critical security information is delivered.

FleetControl™ is the application platform that provides companies with an intuitive and easy to use utility for tracking their fleet vehicles. FleetControl™ is the security command center that gives full location and operational visibility into your fleet. Using FleetControl™, you can change and configure your mobile assets and, in the case of a critical, dangerous or threatening event, you can limit the operational extent of your fleet vehicles or shut them down all together.

FleetControl™ provides users with real time over-the-air control of their drivers and vehicles: In-transit drivers are managed remotely through driver authentication codes; speed maximums and idle times can be set and adjusted remotely; maintenance codes control downtime of a vehicle; and when needed, safe and controlled over-the-air intervention capabilities are available.

Full tracking of assets show current operational mode, speed and location. Features are also available to provide access to historical information, advanced searching capability and customization of your asset groupings.

Most importantly, FleetControl™ allows for the configuration and management of the on-board OCS through simple online configuration screens.
   
MAGTEC understands that with larger fleets, it can be difficult being aware of everything that is happening with each vehicle. The Event Monitor manages select vehicles or entire fleets, and provides multiple types of alert notifications when specific events occur. If you want to know when a vehicle is tampered with or enters in Unattended Idle Protect™, the Event Monitor will tell you – automatically.

FleetControl™ also offers a level of automated security. Through the use of Geo-Zones (or Geo-Fences), it’s easy to restrict the areas that vehicles are allowed to travel. FleetControl™ users can make specific places ‘off-limits’, and define how to handle those operators that choose to stray into or out of their specified zone. It’s all configurable – from a simple pop-up message to the remote shutdown of a vehicle, FleetControl™ gives you total control over your transit security, trucking or tanker fleet, cargo and business.
